Utility coordination is not one-size-fits-all, so we use a project-based pricing approach to ensure each client receives the right level of advocacy and expertise for their specific needs.

Utility type (electric, gas, or combined services)
Project scope (new service, upgrades, remodels, ADUs, or added loads)
Service configuration (overhead vs. underground)
Project phase (pre-design, post-design, etc.)
Level of coordination required with utilities, municipalities, and third parties

These factors affect timelines, required documentation, inspections, and coordination effort, which is why pricing is customized per project.

Additional Services & Special Circumstances

Some projects require additional coordination outside of standard scopes, such as:

Temporary power services
Post-design coordination
Additional inspections or inspection attendance

Changes in scope or redesign requests

Why We Don’t Publish Fixed Pricing

Utility coordination varies significantly based on jurisdiction, utility requirements, and project conditions. Publishing fixed pricing without context can lead to inaccurate expectations.

Instead, we provide custom proposals after reviewing your project details to ensure pricing reflects the actual scope and level of effort required.

Standard Service

Application to Utility-Approved Design

Standard Service is ideal for projects that require professional utility coordination through the design phase.

What is included:

Initial site visit
Expertise in utility standards
PCG 2.0 SQCA pre-qualified advocate
Communication throughout project directly with utility company as required (emails, phone calls, field meetings, etc.)
Compilation of Job Packet required by utility company design engineer
Submit Application to utility company (for new service or upgrade)
Site Visit with utility company personnel to ensure prompt acceptance into the design queue
Review of utility company approved design and contract for accuracy and scope reflection

Premium Service

Standard Service

Application to Meter Set

Premium Service includes everything in the Standard Service, plus full project advocacy through construction and meter set.

Additional support includes:

Coordinate and attend Pre-Construction Meeting with utility company and/or contractors
Communicate with the municipality to make sure utility company has submitted the correct permits to ensure a prompt construction date
Coordinate all utility company inspections, conduct pre-inspections as required (SQCA trench agent is required to be present at all inspections)

For Underground Projects:
- Provide one (1) set of as builts as required by utility company
- Confirm that Joint Utilities have been notified of a joint trench requirement and that any required joint trench composite fees have been paid to the appropriate third party.

For Dual Meters: utility company approved permanent labels provided and installed by PCG 2.0

Ensure all dependencies are met to get the meter set date
Electric Permit and Meter release by others
PCG 2.0 will maximize CPUC electric allowance if eligible
